This policy explains what information Merix Marketplace ("Merix," "we," "us") collects when you use our website and related store applications, how that information is used, and the choices available to you. By using Merix Marketplace, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect information in a few different ways:

• Account information. If you create a customer account to leave reviews, or a store account to sell on the platform, we collect your name, email address, and (for store accounts) business details such as store name, address, and phone number.
• Location information. If you choose to share your location or type in an address, we use it to show you nearby stores and to set your default currency and country filter. This is stored locally in your browser and, where relevant, associated with your account.
• Usage information. We record marketplace visits, store page views, and search activity in aggregate to understand which stores and products are popular, and to help store owners understand traffic to their own listings.
• Transaction information. Orders placed through a store's ordering page are processed and stored by that store, not centrally by Merix, though basic order metadata (which store, approximate value, timing) may be visible to us for platform analytics and fraud prevention.
• Cookies and local storage. We use your browser's local storage to remember preferences like your selected currency, location filter, and recent searches, so you don't have to re-enter them on every visit.

How we use this information

• To operate the marketplace — showing you relevant stores, processing your searches, and remembering your preferences between visits.
• To help store owners run their businesses — providing them with sales, inventory, and traffic data for their own store.
• To maintain trust and safety — verifying reviews come from real accounts, and detecting fraudulent or abusive activity.
• To improve the platform — understanding, in aggregate, how the marketplace is used so we can prioritize what to build next.

Third-party advertising

Merix Marketplace displays advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Some content on the marketplace, such as sponsored video placements, is separately managed by individual store owners or the platform directly, and is labeled as sponsored where it appears.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the platform, including Supabase (database and authentication hosting) and OpenStreetMap/Nominatim (address lookup and mapping). These providers may process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security practices.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Store owners can see information related to orders placed with them directly (name, order details) since that's necessary to fulfill the order, but do not have access to your marketplace account credentials or your activity on other stores.

Your choices

You can clear your locally stored preferences (location, currency, recent searches) at any time by clearing your browser's site data for merixos.net. If you have a customer account and would like it deleted, contact us using the details on our Contact page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
